Poop Patrol

The 78 million dogs living in the United States create 10 million tons of poop annually – that's a whole lot of ick on our lands! Bacteria, worms and other parasites thrive in waste until it’s washed away into the waters.

So picking up our dog's waste and throwing it out is a small change that can make a big difference in keeping our waters clean.

Home Hero

Our homes and the yards that surround them are the best places to help our estuaries - even if you're miles from any waterways. Here are two ways we can help our waters and our playgrounds at home:

Lawn Care - there are four small changes you can make when mowing and feeding your lawn that make a difference for clean water. Learn More from UNH Cooperative Extension.

Soak up the Rain - Rain is a resource, why not capture it, direct it, and soak it up! Explore this site to learn how you can Soak Up the Rain.

wide Open Spaces

The Seacoast is abundant with open space, trails, and coasts to enjoy and explore however, these spaces are at risk from pollution and development and they need your voice, vote, and support to be sure they stay open, clean, and accessible for you, your family, and future generations of Seacoasters.

Join your local land trust.

Join your town conservation commission or planning board.

Vote in support of town efforts to purchase and protect open space.

Protect land alongside waterways, called buffers by leaving plants, trees, and grasses.
